Richard Caldicott is a British artist born in 1962 who explores drawing & photography by creating abstract compositions. He has continually challenged photographic codes of representation in favor of new aesthetic and symbolic starting with the artist’s acclaimed series Tupperware in the 1990s. The abstract compositions of colors and geometric forms are widely known as a completely new and fresh use of mundane consumer products.

Employing traditional analog photography methods, Caldicott imbues his minimalist set of components with rich, vibrant
colors. The result is stunningly beautiful abstract work that is both self-contained and part of a larger dialogue, with nods to iconic minimalism, Colour Field paintings, and pop reappropriation. Although he is well known for Tape Drawings, Envelope drawings, and ink-jet prints that are inextricably linked through their minimal aesthetic and focus. And delve into the interplay between space, form, and color.

His work has been exhibited extensively in solo and group shows, as well as several art fairs, including Hamiltons,
London ; Sous Les Etoiles, New York; Art Basel Hong Kong; Paris Photo; FIAC, and the Venice Biennale.
